Common Modifications for LT1s
Exhaust
Catback: Exhaust system from the catalytic converter back. Examples include Flowmaster American Thunder, Hooker, Magnaflow, Loudmouth, SLP2OTL
Headers: Replacement to exhaust manifolds, better flowing. Ranges from Shorty Headers, Mid-Length, or Long Tubes. Examples include Pacesetter, Hooker, Edelbrock, BBK, AS&M
Cutout: Y in the exhaust system usually following the catalytic converter allowing to bypass the catback for a performance gain.
True Duals: Dual exhaust from the headers back. Usually dumped before the axles.
Offroad Y Pipe (ORY): Y pipe that connects the headers/manifolds to the intermediate pipe without catalytic converts. Intended for offroad use only.
